Supplemental essays
- As part of the admissions process, all students are asked to provide an essay on the topic of their life experience and preparation to engage in bodywork and the field of Structural Integration. Specifically, essays should address your personal life experience and how past achievements and challenges have prepared you to adapt, learn, and be successful in the DIRI Rolfing SI program. Your essay should: Briefly introduce yourself by describing your educational and work experiences. Describe a past achievement and a past challenge. What personal character traits have helped you deal with success and failure? What have you done well? How might you have acted differently? Reflecting back, what were your support mechanisms? How do your past experiences, help you to adapt to change? Explain: There are many bodywork modalities and structural integration schools from which to choose. Why have you decided to apply to The Dr. Ida Rolf Institute? Considering your life experiences, why is this the right time for you to attend the Rolfing SI program? Demonstrate your ability to provide cogent and introspective written work. Essay format: Maximum of three typed double-spaced pages (8 by 11) with one-inch margins Times New Roman 12-point font Left-sided, single-spaced notation prior to starting your essay will include the following: Date (Month, Day, and Year) Name of Student To: Rolfing SI Admissions Committee Before you begin your essay, please note the title "Life Experience Essay"
